Veg Uttapam is a soft, thick, and savory South Indian pancake made from fermented rice and urad dal batter, topped generously with colorful vegetables and spices. Unlike dosa, which is thin and crisp, uttapam is soft and slightly spongy, making it a hearty and wholesome meal.
To prepare veg uttapam, the batter is poured thick onto a hot tawa (griddle), and finely chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander, and capsicum are sprinkled on top.
